Mrs. CherryAnn James

I am Ms. James, your child’s Early Intervention Program (E.I.P.) Math and ELA teacher. I am truly excited about working with you to support your child to have a fantastic learning experience.   I have been an elementary school teacher for 14 years. I taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades.  I completed my student teaching in fifth grade.  I attended City College of New York, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Two years later, I earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Medialle College.  I also have my Curriculum and Instruction Education Specialist Degree.  This is my second year at Northcutt and I know that we are about to embark on a great school year, one filled with hope, vision, and excitement.

Discipline: I use a structured Positive Behavior approach to classroom management. Students are rewarded for positive behaviors, given consequences for negative behaviors, and encouraged to work together to achieve class goals.

Communication: The more closely we communicate, the better school year
your child will have. One of my most important goals is to keep the lines
of communication open with my parents. Parental involvement is essential to
your child's academic success! Please do not hesitate to contact me with
questions and/or concerns at any time.
